APEC prepared a 20-year growth facilities plan for the water system serving the Town of Eureka. The facilities plan included evaluation of the Town’s water distribution system, the infiltration gallery water supply that had been designated as groundwater under the direct influence of surfacewater, and the storage reservoir. The facilitiesplan evaluated growth in the planning area and recommended necessary improvements for the Town’s water system through a 20-year design.We evaluated the system, documenting leakageand treatment issues, and presented findingsand recommendations in the form of a systemgrowth plan. From there we designed a UV Water Disinfection System to replace the existing chlorinated treatment process as well as distributionsystem improvements and a town wide water metering system. These improvements resulted in a savings of over 200,000 gallons per day.
