APEC Engineering provided Civil and Structural Engineering services for this new condominium development located on the edge of the Flathead River. This development consists of three, four unit condominiums that are situated on a steep bank overlooking the river. The site for this development was challenging and unique that it required a design that would accommodate building access and slope stability while preserving the views of both Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains. Deep foundation utilizing helical piers were chosen becuase of the poor soil conditions and presence of groundwater. An engineered water collection system was designed for behind the foundations of the buildings and below buildings.The site design met the City of Polson and MDEQ requirements. Special grinder pumps were installed in each building to lift the water two levels up to the gravity lines.
